The Color White

When darkness surrounds you and nothing feels right, you want to be transported into a completely new world which restores faith and trust in existing as a human being. Recently I have been watching a TV series which is a lot negative and dark and that information fed to my mind sometimes keeps me negative but how do I get back to reality? So it was a couple of nights ago when I thought about white and all the colors of the world which exist in mine.

But the first one which came to my mind was White. Why yes, because white resembles peace, calm and positive state of mind, it was like an imaginary canvas and all I could do is do whatever with it, it’s open, transparent and free will. And so I used to to write my next blog post.

There are many colors we come across daily and with their presence, our lives are way better than just shades of grey. Green tells us about the environment while Orange reminds us of the nature and sunset, Yellow takes us to the world of flowers and taxis and Pink reminds us of sugar, shakes, skirts and much more. We even get comfortable with grey because there’s a certain comfort in the darkness but I want to speak about three specific colors I’d like to get rid of:

*bates breath*

Red – On my hands, I’d never like to see.
Black – On my mind, I’d never want to experience.
Blue – On my heart, I’d never like to continue.

After all, life is a combination of different colors, some we can embrace, some we want to get rid of. Right?

That’s so true. I think I have favorite colors according to my moods. Hihi. That would depict what state of mind I’m in! Red lips? Sunshine yellow dress? Well..
    Love it, Ashu!

Nice post as always Ashwini. Yes you are right that there are colors that we like to get rid of and some we like to embrace… Blue is my favorite color and it gives me the feeling of “Sky is the limit” 🙂

I’d not mind red on the finger while taking kumkum 😉 But I get what you meant. Never a black mind or the continuing blues. Yep. Not worth it.

Colors on my mind? That varies with the mood. 🙂 Right now, it’s yellow for the dal I think will be there for lunch.

I am struggling with feeling blue right now! There is so much to do and feel so less time. But then when I think again, it could be an excuse too. Colour is love is white. Colour of peace of calmness.

That’s a very different take on the prompt, Ashwini. You are right about those red, black and blue. Life’s different colors have different connotations for us and I guess we prefer some colors over others because of that.

What a nice way to look at colours! I liked the way you wrote about the colours that you want to avoid.

But different colors have different connotations too right? Sure, I’d love to see the green of the environment but not the green of envy. I’d love to see the red of love, the red of a bride but not red on my hands for sure! And the white they resembles peace, calm and positivity to you might resemble death and morning to others. What’s your take on this?

    • adodani October 17, 2017 @ 1:06 pm

Totally agree with you on this 🙂 Different perceptions and experiences.

White is my favourite colour too! Though every color has its own meaning in our life but for me white has always been like a part of something unique.
