Tête-à-Tête between monsters!

Heart: Do you know what they keep speaking about you behind your back? The way they blame your instincts and the capacity to ruin people, lives and emotions? Don’t you ever feel like proving them wrong? Sometimes I feel pity for you because for all the good you are responsible for, the bad just overshadows it and you are simply judged.

Mind: That’s really kind of you, dear heart. While you are so protective of me, even though I’d not want to spill out some secrets, I’d like to ask you one simple thing, do you feel like thinking twice before motivating me to do certain acts? There are consequences to reality which you make my eyes blind to, sometimes I am not able to look through the pros and cons, and you quietly know you are responsible for it. Don’t you feel like taking some ownership and be patient before jumping into the fire?

Heart: Maybe you are right, maybe I am the monster here. And you, you just are the victim?

Mind: No, sweetheart. We are equally responsible in this. I didn’t want to blame you, I just want you to know that in the world of hate, it’s us together which makes all the difference.

Double edged sword, really. Being too instinctive or too logical, both can make life into a monster we cannot take. So the interdependency between the two really makes a difference.

Wow completely different take on the prompt. I chose heart over mind in my write up based on a personal incident not identical but similar to it. Loved ur take on the prompt!

Nice one Ashwini… Enjoyed reading the conversation between the heart and mind. This exactly what happens between the two, which affects the ultimate decision.

Such an unique take in the prompt. So very creative Ashwini. Too much dependence on anyone could become a monster I guess. There has to be a balance between the heart and the mind , but that is difficult too.

So well written. Makes one confident that there’s no monster within, but just double the force to chase the ones lurking outside!

True that. We need to have that balance maintained 🙂
