3 Times You Felt The Most Grateful

Gratitude is one of the most talked topics these days and I think it should be, the more we know about it, listen and apply, the more life gets better. In a generation where the word Sorry is abused and Thank you is underused, we need to go back to some basics and learn the art of being thankful. It not only adds to the feel good factor but it also makes us a better human being.

Today, I want to focus and think about times when I felt the most grateful. I am keeping it short and more generic so that most of you can relate and share your experiences as well.

  1. When you finally cracked your first job:

Ambition is a big thing yet passion is bigger though. The intent to make it big is where it all starts and we all start somewhere, don’t we? Most of us will always remember the first paycheck or cash salary we received. The first job we cracked, the first offer letter you saw in your name and that call you made to your parents/family to inform that you MADE it. It’s like invisible confetti around you already making you feel like a star. I remember the first ever job which I cracked in a call center just to work in vacation, I was so happy, I called my mother from the building itself to express my happiness. The salary was what they call peanuts today, but it was big for me then and when I received that money, the feeling was world class. This just lent a lump in my throat as I write this and some tears in my eyes, sigh.

  2. When he/she says Yes:

Falling in love is one of the most beautiful things in life. The feeling, the high, the rush just to name a few feelings. Love is by far the most amazing experience, it includes success, failures, heartbreaks, sadness, improvement, a better life, learning all clubbed in one. And to be honest, one heartbreak is necessary to make you realize the value of love. All the pain which comes through falling in love is only going to make you rise from the ashes like a Phoenix. So don’t fear to fall in love and never forget that your purpose on the whole is to spread support, love and kindness. Nothing better than it.

  3. Your first hard earned moment of fame:

Though I believe there’s no one who can make it big alone, there’s something which drove you to give your two hundred percent to make it through. There maybe a lot of people in the back end but the passion and will is yours alone. When you achieve what you wanted that too after long hours, weeks, months or maybe years, you cannot stop tears flowing through those smiling lips. You are never more grateful than this moment. You feel I wanted this, I worked hard for this but not everyone still makes the cut. For me it was when I published my first poetry book. I cannot describe the feeling when I received the first set of prints, I was alone at home, my hands were shivering as I opened the pack and I was literally dancing, also no one was watching. Point being, it’s a high we all should experience at least once in our lifetime. Amazing is an understatement to describe this feeling.

It’s not easy to be grateful because we tend to magnify the problems more than what we have in this moment, we blow situations out of proportion than to simplify life. What I still believe in is those who try never fail, never. They might fail small but they will recover and win better. With this, signing off the second last post of #MyFriendAlexa.

I am taking my Alexa rank to the next level with Blogchatter. So should you 😉

Well said Ashwini! We complicate life a lot instead of keeping it simple and enjoying every moment of it without expectations…

Well said Ashwini. Often times we focus too much on our problems and what we don’t have conveniently forgetting all that we have. Life can be simple but that’s the hard part. We need to remind ourselves what all we have been blessed with, family, love, friends, good life, knowledge, education, freedom and many more things.
    It’s a lovely post
