A Poem For Not So Poetry Admirers

Same pair of eyes, hands, ears and emotions,

Taken down on the heart or pages,

Doesn’t matter how we express,

We aren’t different than you,

We just want to express in words and ink,

No doubt you might not love rhymes or verse,

A little help on the shoulder still works wonders,

Those same experiences, struggles and heartbreaks,

We are friends with different accolades,

Some of us are called introvert, others confident,

Some generalize us by a million other idioms,

But aren’t we the same rebels, same humans who protest when something goes wrong with the world?

Poets are termed as sad or heart broken,

How does this set of conditions not make everyone a poet?

We all go through tears, loneliness and a tonne of baggage,

Come on, don’t be so mean to those who can fly,

With colors of words and experiences high,

Sometimes you like to read because you relate,

Other times you discard because you feel it can’t happen to you,

A little bit of fragility, a little bit of fear,

There’s no designation called poet, no shame in sharing the tears,

For those who know poetry, know it doesn’t need to rhyme,

It just should come from the bottom of your heart,

A little below the belt, a little above the brim of your glass,

Let’s not categorize poets, writers and humans,

We all are one, in the name of spirits and divine…

A poet by heart, not methods! Loved the poem! And yes, I love poetry, its the best way to convey loads of feelings through a few well-chosen words! Structure and rules are baffling and beyond me!

We have thus circumscribed the word poetry within the limits of that art which is the most familiar and the most perfect expression of the faculty itself. It is necessary, however, to make the circle still narrower, and to determine the distinction between measured and unmeasured language; for the popular division into prose and verse is inadmissible in accurate philosophy.

    Poets have their own play
    with words they sway
It need not rhyme at the end
Its the emotion that they capture
They have a got a poetic license
    which helps them weave
different layers in the same line!

Wonderful poetry! I dont have anything else to say πŸ™‚
