The Balloon Man

A well-to-do city it was where happiness stayed and the people were happy enough to survive in a manner which everyone would like to. It was a small city where people were contended in just earning to afford a two time meal and they used to observe happiness in small things. Rains excited them, puddles and dirt were their swimming pools, every festival a marriage sort and every death a mournful time.
What mattered to them was realization of being born in a place where everyone was happy in a way and they never had a feeling of one having less than another. Singing songs together, working together, meeting at night to have dinner together and helping each other every morning to drill out water was a part of their daily life. There was a man who had the profession of selling balloons and those toys which we see generally outside marriages or where there are rides for children or wherever we can find small children so that they get attracted and he earns a living. Once he was asked why did he like to roam all day like this and take this as a profession? His answer was as below:
“I am a man who has grown up from a child. When we are small we don’t realize that the amount of innocence we all have, we are going to lose it with the age and the problems of Life would take over, not leaving us with any time to have such small joys. Today when i look back i see that there were times i had a hearty laugh many a times, I did what I liked, I used to go out and play and have fun to the maximum of my strength and come back, sleep effortlessly. Today I can see and realize the importance of these balloons and toys. These balloons inspire us to know the different colors of Life, they tell us that life grows slowly by breathing in and out like we do in a balloon, we keep on living and life keeps getting big, with more air and more effort Life becomes king size and the possibilities of flying up in the air becomes easy and we can reach the sky. But then it again tells us that, one prick of Life’s lesson and we could just blast to the end, we would just remain in to pieces which can never be repaired. So applies to the toys too. So today i chose to hurt myself and exhaust but try to spread this lesson and joy at this stage. I know till they will reach my age, they won’t have the ability to live fully like they can now and may be it will be too late to have a profession like what i do  according to the generations to come. So today though i don’t give them all of this free i at least with every balloon and toy wish that the child has the maximum joy, play and contentment which possibly he/she wouldn’t be able to receive even on trying hard. All i could do is Bless them with everything I could possibly sell them and earn a bit of happiness in that.”
After listening to this everyone in the city was inspired so much that they used to buy Balloons and Toys from him for their children so that what they heard, what they agreed to, they have a story to tell to their children and pass on the inspiration keeping the city still full of Courtesy, Courage and Contentment.
Moral of the story: “We know that with growing up we are going to be over loaded with responsibilities but everything happens with a choice, sometimes we don’t have an option but we know the choice for small joys never ends. So today feel free to do the most childish thing like buying yourself a balloon, playing with a small toy or eating candies just to make yourself happy and have a memory that you know that Life is short and you realize that it has to have no regrets left at the last breath.”

You grow up.But never outgrow the things that you love. Never let the trivialities of life lose the child in you; the one that loves the wonder of every single thing.
