Seek.. (The Untrodden Path)

Know of a road close by, a plain and simple stretch
that I knew led home …with gentle curves somewhere
Stepped along with me many, on the common street
Some walked some ran some stumbled along
While I too ran and I too walked I always stayed behind
For a glimpse of the passing meadows my eyes tore from.

Went up hill with the home made bread,
Climbed and climbed and climbed.
And on the way down I see the next
and the next hill coming to sight
I saw it was such a rush through the meadows
So I took those hills instead.

The hill was rough and not so steep
But the rocks were way too brittle
For once I held on a few to climb
Though the trench was way too deep.
The sun over head ‘n to reach home before dusk

Halfway through a creek to rest on,
And people joined in for the break
To go home, what’s the hurry? let’s look around here some more.
While they went up and further away,
I clung to the rocks, moving and shifting around
saw the forests, wilderness, barren lands like
from where I’d reached so far.

and then to see some more I sought
a scream so abrupt I heard just then,
back I rushed and slipped rocks and boulders,
and found someone to hold me tight till was the last breath to come,
and was i fooled or really surprised to see the prince along,
I dint knew we were to meet in this hilly rocks,
and got to take the same path which was less trodden,
but less to say for what i thought would be on this way,
And got the hands which showed the way and protect from the slippery route.

Now have to think which way i should go is it the real track i thought,
and will the stray path shown was real this way i had to flow,
but for once i have to stop and think that will this purpose fullfill,
and wait till the clock ticks and gives me the right time,
Or is god giving me the knock to move ahead the time
because as one says “Stitch in time, saves nine”
so if i go to the path it shows and feel anything better then now
will ever pray and show it loud that bring it on all brothers
and never regret the path to the hills and stones forgotten.

This is such a fairy tale kind of a poem. As a seeker of the path less trodden, I so relate to what you have written. Vivid imagery – I wish i could achieve this level of writing some day!
